The  EU  Marie  Sklodowska-‐Curie  Initial  Training  Network  (ITN)  on
 ¨Improved production strategies for
endangered freshwater species¨ (IMPRESS) is looking for a  highly motivated and  talented 
scientist to  apply  for  a  PhD position at  the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment
of the Hebrew University, Israel. 
IMPRESS  offers  a  highly
 interdisciplinary  and  international
 training  for  15  PhD students throughout the EU. In addition to
conducting research, students are enrolled on an extensive programme of short training
courses, and secondments at other partner institutions.  
The  main  aim  of  MPRESS  is
 to  develop  new  technologies
 and  approaches  for improved production, management and conservation
of three threatened diadromous fish species, the European eel, Atlantic salmon and
the sturgeons. Interested candidates  can

This specific PhD project will determine the interaction
between the gonadotropins and their receptors of a late-maturing fish, namely the
sturgeon, towards the development of novel methods for enhancement of reproduction.
